Since the company's inception in 1876 as Walter Gregory and Co, Swallowfield, the brainchild of the first commercial aerosols in the 1950s, has established itself as a leading global provider of products, services and solutions to the personal care and household goods sectors, working with some of the world's most renowned brands and high street retailers.

Innovation and creativity are at the heart of our business. We create more than 2,000 new formulations a year, undertaking specific development work for customers or manufacturing to customer's own requirements. To ensure our customers' products have a leading edge, we constantly track market activity and consumer trends in terms of new concepts, packaging and design. What is more, our passion for setting tomorrow's trends today and the need to be one step ahead of the consumer in the fast moving world of beauty, means that we are continually investing in new products and technologies from our extensive laboratory facilities.

Headquartered in Wellington, Somerset, with a separate cosmetics division in Bideford, Swallowfield's geographical footprint reaches further afield than the UK with three more premises across the globe. These include a sourcing office in Shanghai, a production facility in Tabor in the Czech Republic and most recently, a sales operation near Paris, which was opened in late 2008.

As our own geographical footprint increases, so too does the importance of ensuring we apply our environmental policies across all of our international operations. Swallowfield was one of the first companies to be accredited with the environmental management standard, ISO14001, in 2008 and we have since continued to make significant progress in improving our environmental performance across all aspects of our business.
